The Legacy Tree & Bench Program provides an opportunity to honor a loved one or commemorate a milestone at Great Parks of Hamilton County.

By adopting a legacy tree or bench, you enrich our shared bigger backyard and enhance the natural beauty of Great Parks.

Guidelines

Legacy benches are available for adoption for a 5-year period and in recognition of the contribution, a plaque engraved with a personalized inscription can be added to the bench. After the 5-year period ends, the current honoree or family will be given the first opportunity to re-adopt the legacy bench.

Legacy trees are available for adoption for a 5-year period. Plaques will no longer be installed at legacy tree sites. Honorees will be recognized in Great Parks online Legacy Program Gallery for the adoption period. Family members, friends, or honorees will be invited to submit one photo and up to 100 words about your honoree. After the 5-year period ends, the current honoree or family will be given the first opportunity to re-adopt the legacy tree.

The price for a legacy tree is $2,500 and a legacy bench is $5,000. After a location is chosen, a $250.00 deposit is due. We will contact you to collect additional details and upon completion, will collect the balance of the fee.

Great Parks of Hamilton County maintains the legacy tree or bench for the 5-year adoption period.

Great Parks of Hamilton County reserves the right to relocate or replace with a comparable tree or bench due to capital construction, landscape redesign or other extenuating circumstances. During the 5-year warranty period, Great Parks’ staff will make its best efforts to contact the donor or honoree at the last known postal address, email address, or phone number, should a relocation or replacement need arise.

Legacy trees and benches must be left as-is; no additional decorations, plantings or ashes may be added.

Legacy trees are planted between October 1 and December 15. Trees adopted after October 1 will be planted the following year between October 1 and December 15. Legacy benches are available year-round.

An acknowledgment card can be sent to the honoree’s family if an address is provided.

Contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

Process

Select a legacy tree or bench using the form below. When you click on ‘Submit’ you will be directed to a page to make a deposit on your tree ($250) or bench ($500). Once you make a deposit, you will be sent a PDF of the Legacy Program Guidelines. Print, sign, and mail or email the Guidelines to Great Parks Forever. Then, you will complete your donation by check or a link to pay online will be emailed when the signed Guidelines are received.

You or your honoree will be notified when your legacy bench is confirmed or your legacy tree planted (between October 1 and December 15).

Email a photo of your honoree and up to 100 words about them to be included in the Legacy Progam Gallery. High-resolution photos appear better online.
